"There's no escaping the night."
On a dark and gloomy night, a secret group of monster hunters gathers after the death of their leader. In a strange and macabre commemoration of the leader's life, those in attendance are forced into a mysterious and deadly battle over a powerful relic. The hunt will eventually bring them face to face with a dangerous monster.

Director Michael Giacchino is best known as a composer (Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, Doctor Strange, The Batman, ...) and here he makes the first real TV special of MCU. Phase Four has already gone in all directions (always under the straitjacket of Marvel) so that a monster special is certainly not so strange. It fits well with series like Moon Knight and soon Blade! The story is not much special. Fans of the comics will probably be extra happy with one of the characters. Furthermore, it remains a somewhat hollow box, although nicely decorated by the nostalgic black and white images and actors such as Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly. And curious how this fits into the whole, because gradually the puzzles in Phase Four may fall into each other.

Atypical Marvel film of less than an hour that unfortunately misses the mark. Gael García Bernal is miscast in the lead role, plot and characters are bland and visually there is not much to experience.
