The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom plot
In the waning days of the Ming dynasty, the imperial court suffers from corruption by tyrants who rule the land. With the Manchus preying on a weakened empire, war also threatens. The situation is even worse near the northwestern border, where famine is killing many. To spare the victims from further suffering, the sorceress Jade Raksha fights the soldiers who oppress the people. In revenge, the local government decides to make Jade appear guilty for the murder of Governor Zhuo Zhonglian. This turns her and the members of her cult into fugitives for a crime they didn't commit.
