Fantaghirò plot
A king is constantly at war with a competing monarch. He has two daughters and wants a male heir. When the third child also turns out to be a girl, he tries to sacrifice her in the forest, but she is saved by a fairy. Fantaghirò grows into a rebellious girl and learns how to handle the sword from a supernatural white knight. When Romualdo, a knight of the opposing side, meets the girl in the woods, he falls in love with her. To end the ongoing battle, a duel is arranged between Fantaghirò and Romualdo, who does not recognize her because she is dressed as a knight.
