Chelovek-veter plot
"When the wind changes, nothing stays the same."
A strange figure falls from the sky during a storm: a frail old man with wings. When Almat discovers him in his shed, the stranger, who speaks no known language, asks nothing; he sits anxiously in his hiding place while the villagers stare at him. Despite his passivity, the old man soon begins to challenge local values and beliefs. Is he an angel, as the amateur scientist and Quranic scholar Domulla claims? Is he one of Satan's followers, as the village mullah says, pointing out that the creature does not understand the language of Allah? Or is the wretch some kind of human anomaly, the result of a nuclear test? Meanwhile, a threatening, veiled figure haunts the outskirts of the village, causing hysteria and panic. Is the faceless man Madar, the Angel of Death, who can kill with his gaze, from an ancient Persian myth?
