Ye Ying - Le Promeneur d'Oiseau plot
"Three generations, one promise, one bird."
To keep the promise to his wife, Zhigen, an old Chinese farmer, decides to return to his native village. He has as a unique companion during his old years a bird, which he wants to release. He will travel from Beijing to Yangshuo, along with Renxing, his granddaughter, a spoiled city girl, who is forced to leave with him. They are both very different, they each come from a different world, but they share their memories and adventures with each other. The girl discovers new values, especially those of the heart.
