Eight-year-old Oskar's vacation gets off to a miserable start. His parents trade his computer for his grandfather to protect him from the negative influences of the Internet. The old Kode obliges him to do chores and he is not allowed to wear modern sneakers. His grandmother Irma Kode tries to mediate, but when she gets into trouble, Oskar and Kode must work together to help her.
