Retired mathematician Mateusz Korczynski has become a gloomy person since the death of his mother. He always wears, albeit slightly crookedly, a hat whether it is summer or winter. So also in the month of May. One day he meets two children. They want to know everything about the hat and Mateusz is happy that it is needed again. What he does not know is that his meeting with the children was the work of two good spirits: that of his grandmother and his deceased mother.
