Finn plot
When Finn (9), meets a mysterious man who plays a violin enchantedly beautifully, he wants to learn that too. But his father prefers that he just play football like all the other boys, and forbids him to do so. Finn doesn't understand why, but his father doesn't want to talk about it. Finn secretly decides to take lessons after all.

Today I saw the film again, and it still felt familiar, even though I'd forgotten how the story went. Looking back at my previous review, I now disagree. I certainly don't find the film as bad as it was back then, rewatching it now. The acting is actually quite good. And the story builds quite nicely. My biggest complaint now is that I find the film rather saccharine towards the end. The Christmas atmosphere and sentiment feel a bit forced at the end. The beginning of the film, when you didn't yet know how it would end or what the film was actually about, was actually stronger.
