Zu Fuß und ohne Geld plot

Stephan Waldhoff, a Hamburg journalist is professionally in crisis: The newspaper he works for is canceling its contribution about people with social problems because the interest of the readers has diminished. Also on a personal level, Waldhoff finds himself at a turning point in his life: his friends are getting on his nerves and his partner Martha is filing for divorce. The death of Kalle, the last interviewer before his report, determines Waldhoff's decision: On foot and without money he will go from Hamburg to Munich, and perhaps this will give him a better understanding of his objects of study, the people who find himself on the fringes of society, and maybe he will get to know himself better too.
