Znachor plot
Talented surgeon Pan Taseusz (Jerzy Binczycki) is abandoned by his wife and daughter. Struck by grief, he becomes drunk and beaten during a robbery. The doctor, suffering from an amnesia, wanders for years from one village to another. He toils like an ordinary worker. While working for a mill owner, he meets his son, who is recovering from an accident, and is eager to help him walk again. The locals begin to see him as someone with supernatural powers. Later he meets an ordinary young village woman who looks very much like his wife.
