Zimniy Put plot
During a bus ride Erik, a classical singing student, is listening to music on his mobile phone. Meanwhile, Lyokha, a young psychotic and homophobic criminal, beats up some passengers. Because Erik sits with his back to the event, he sees or hears nothing. Before Lyokha is arrested by the alarmed police, he snatches the phone from Erik, but drops an amulet. Later, Lyokha is released and roams the icy, snowy streets of Moscow. Because he steals everything loose or stuck, he is again wanted by the police. Meanwhile, because he has an important audition, Erik is preparing an excerpt from Schubert's Winterreise. Lyokha calls one of Erik's friends with the stolen mobile phone.
