In my opinion a way too high average for this film. Movies like Step up, Honey, all much better. The dance scenes are really tight but there are very few. I think the story is very mediocre. The acting is not that bad but it is clear to see that they are not real actors. What annoyed me were the very short scenes in the film. Scenes of sometimes 10 to 20 seconds that were really unnecessary. The ending was very predictable.

Way better than Stomp the Yard which comes in the same DVD box. Moves are cool, problems are worked out better and the acting isn't even that embarrassing. Supporting roles such as grandma, the doctor and the race director were played well. However, it all remains quite one-sided, the camera work is somewhat stuffy and the soundtrack could be a bit more intense. Looks nice, that's it.

Bad.

The rating on IMDb is completely justified in my opinion, and I don't often see it that much higher on MovieMeter. As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the worst dance movies in the current days. But I haven't seen the ultimate B-movies yet.

At least in a lot of areas very below par. The acting of the teens is very bad, I can't name a single one that did it a bit creditably. The better roles come from more experienced actors, and usually the energy comes from the teenagers. So not here.

These kinds of films are often a summary of clichés, but You Got Served was very bad. As if literally every cliché had to pass by. Most problems or events are resolved after 3 minutes of their occurrence, and other problems take longer and are gone in the blink of an eye. Seriously mediocre.

The dance steps are very fun and electric, but poorly edited. Everything is cut to pieces, and the camera work is also quite ugly. I believe Stokes was aiming for a modern movie, but it still feels like an old fart behind the wheel. Someone who doesn't understand anything at all.

The film races past at a fast train pace, but the story rumbles on all sides and the drama never manages to touch or convince. Partly because of the young cast, who sometimes act as if they are unstable. It has to come mainly from the tempo and the dance steps, which fortunately were a bit better. For the rest, a monstrosity in many respects.
