Office worker Atsumi Kozi and his adult son are both persistent drinkers. A serious accident occurs during one of their drinking bouts and the son dies. He leaves behind a betrothed. This is an indictment of Japanese politics that did not hold drunkards responsible for their actions in the 1960s.
