Yokohama Monogatari plot

Nanami Matsuura, 25, grew up in an orphanage. She works as a manager of an amateur drama group, has no savings and is way behind in paying the rent. Yoshinori Tanabe, 65, has been working as a soccer field manager for 40 years. On the day he can finally retire, his wife dies. The two meet and Nanami decides to move in with Yoshinori. Without deliberation, she also fills the other rooms in Yoshinori's house with Aoi and her five-year-old son, the real estate agent Asako and the unemployed Misaki.
