Wu Yan de Shan Qiu plot
In the 1920s, while Taiwan was a colony of Japan, the small village of Chiu-Fen was famous for its gold mines. Chu and Wei travel there hoping for a rich future. There they meet You, a hardworking housewife and two-time widow. Che falls in love with her and becomes her third husband. Wei falls in love with Fumiko, a young prostitute, and wants to buy her freedom. However, life does not bring the happiness they all hope for.
