Wu Kui plot
"She defied a thousand years of tradition for one moment of passion"
China in the early 1920s, in a remote village in the desert everyone is busy preparing for a wedding. Carrier Kui is tasked with delivering the bride safely. However, they are ambushed by a gang. The bride-to-be surrenders to the gang leader, saving Kui. After the groom-to-be is killed, Kui sets out to rescue the bride. However, their joint return does not turn out as hoped. The mother of the crashed groom insists that the wedding go ahead. The bride will swear her allegiance to a wooden representative of her bride-to-be.
