Deloryse, a dancer of exquisite charm and grace, is courted and won by David Compton, an English officer stationed in Paris. On the eve of their wedding, her fiancé is unexpectedly called away. A blow to the head robs him of his memory and he forgets everything about the faithful young woman who sacrificed everything for him. Later, fate brings them together and while the man's heart is torn by the injustice he unwittingly inflicted on Deloryse by marrying another woman, Deloryse's only thought is to protect their son's future. To this end, she sacrifices herself by dancing at a party given by the second wife in the business, even after a doctor warned her that this would be fatal.
