Wienerinnen plot

"Screaming for Love!"

Four short stories about jealousy in allegorical episodes, set in Vienna just after the Second World War. Anni is a worker in a brick factory who unknowingly falls in love with her half-brother. Olga is a prostitute under the control of her abusive pimp. She finds hope for a new future in Carlo, captain of a tugboat on the Danube. Painter's model Gabriele wants to track down the real perpetrator of the crime for which her lover was imprisoned. And Helene, operator of a puppet theater, has to watch helplessly as her boyfriend ends up in the net of Edith, a new colleague and femme fatale.
