Whispering Canyon plot

Bob Cameron returns from the war to his father's sawmill in California and meets Hinky Dink, a conceited Englishman. Hinky ignored a "No Trespassing" sign on Cameron's property and is caught in a steel trap. Cameron, seeking help, is threatened by Eben Beauregard, an old Southerner, but the appearance of Antonia Lee, Bob's childhood friend, dampens his spirits. Bob learns that Lew Selby, an unscrupulous lumber baron, is trying to buy Antonia's land and that his father has been murdered.
