When Timothy Dolan meets the beautiful Carolyn, everything seems to finally fall into place. They are both head over heels in love and soon plan their wedding, despite Timothy's mother Faye's suspicions. Her distrust is soon confirmed when Timothy suddenly disappears. Although Carolyn claims to know nothing and the police are convinced, Faye is not inclined to believe her. She therefore begins her own investigation in the hope of uncovering the true facts of her son's disappearance.
