Wengler & Söhne plot

German family chronicle from 1871 to 1945. The talented farmer's son Gustav Wengler has been loyal to the company Bärwolf & Abel, a firm specializing in precision mechanics and optics, all his life. He is diligent and conscientious, a good technician and later even a chef. His sons and grandsons will also join the company, he promises the director. But son Friedrich refuses and flies out of the house.
