Warau Kaeru plot

Kurasawa Ippei (Kyozo Nagatsuka) embezzles money from the bank where he works and disappears. His wife Ryoko (Otsuka Nene) flees the big city and lives a quiet life in her parents' house in the countryside. When Ippei reappears after a long time, Ryoko wants him to turn himself in, but then she decides to let him hide for a week so that he signs the divorce papers. Ippei reluctantly accepts that Ryoko marries her new love Yoshizumi and hides in the warehouse. However, this does not stop Ryoko from receiving guests in the house and continuing her relationship with Yoshizumi. Ippei experiences all this through a crack in the wall and rediscovers his desire for Ryoko...
