Wake Up and Dream plot
"The Thrill of Young Love!"
Jeff Cairn enlists in the Navy during World War II. He sends his young sister Nella to visit relatives, but she misses the boarding house where they used to live and where the eccentric Henry Pecket has a self-built dinghy in the backyard. Jeff's friend Jenny also decides to move into the boarding house to take care of Nella. When they receive a telegram that Jeff is missing, Nella sets out to find him. After a series of unexpected developments, the dinghy containing Pecket, Jenny and Nella ends up in the water. This begins a journey that Nella believes will end in the rescue of her brother.
