Voorbij, Voorbij plot

During the Second World War, the resistance leader Arie is shot dead by the Dutch SS-man Niels. Arie's comrades promise each other that they will take revenge and kill Niels. Thirty-five years later, Ab, one of the resistance men, runs into Niels. He decides to invite the others to 'reminisce'. Ab actually wants to keep the promise he made thirty-five years ago, but he notices that the others are no longer interested. They believe that the war is over, and that the past must rest. Gerben is the only one who also sees something in it.
