Virgem Margarida plot

Mozambique 1975. The revolutionary government wants to erase all traces of colonialism as soon as possible and this also applies to prostitution. In the cities, the prostitutes are rounded up and taken to camps in the countryside in the jungle. In the camps they are also guarded by female soldiers who, after years of fighting as guerrilla fighters, still believe in the revolutionary cause. Margarida is one of the five hundred prostitutes who one day end up in such a camp.
