Villégiature plot

Vincent is a penniless young painter who lives a tight life and lives with a friend. He is engaged by wealthy citizens to make a canvas of their villa in Brittany, where they stay during the summer months. He witnesses their customs, disagreements and daily hysteria. He falls in love with the young lady of the house, who often sits alone because her husband is often absent. Gradually he begins to question the real reason for his stay on the domain.
