Kirjailija (Tauno Palo) is a famous writer who is being honored for his fiftieth birthday. Among the posts of all his fans, he discovers a mysterious diary of a woman who greatly admired him. However, she claims to be already dead when he reads this. The film then shows in flashbacks how the woman got to know the writer as a teenage girl, after he came to live in the same apartment complex.
