Vajont - La Diga del Disonore plot
1959, the largest dam in Europe is started in the valley of the Dolomites. Carlo Semenza (Michel Serrault) is the greatest architect of dams in the world and here he realizes The Work of his life, aided by the engineer Biadene (Daniel Auteuil) in charge of this project that will change the economy of Italy. Dramatic consequences are soon possible, resulting in a natural disaster. If the snow from the mountains were to melt into the artificial lake of the dam under construction, the earth movement could carry so much water that many villages in the valley below could be washed away.
