Urs al-Jalil plot
A Palestinian seeks Israeli permission to ignore the curfew in order to provide his son with a happy wedding. The military governor's condition is that he and his officers attend the wedding. The father and groom agree to this. Women ritually prepare the bride; men the groom. Guests gather. Arab youth are planning acts of violence. An Israeli officer becomes intoxicated from the heat and Arab women take her to the cool house for care. A horse escapes and runs into a minefield. The soldiers and the Arabs must work together to save her. As darkness sets in, tensions rise between the army units and the residents, while the groom threatens the family honour. Can one keep a cool head?
