Urlaub vom Leben plot

Rolf Köster has worked for many years as a cashier at a bank in Bremen. There he does, day in, day out, the same monotonous work, always seeing the same predictable customers and the same environment. Yet Rolf Köster always has a smile on his lips. He doesn't pay much attention to his family life, and prefers to avoid it. The problems of his wife and children are alien to him. His health is bad. If Köster goes to a doctor after having suffered many times, he cannot find a disease. Köster's employee decides to give him a week's leave, which Köster accepts without telling his family.
