Uppehåll i Myrlandet plot

A long train travels through a vast swamp area in Lapland and makes a short stop at a small station. As the train continues its journey, brake inspector Kvist says he is not going, but plans to stay here. When the train has left, the station master asks him why he is staying here, after all, there is nothing here. “Because it's beautiful here,” answers Kvist. The stationmaster cannot understand why Kvist is risking his future opportunities within the company by resigning from his job.
