Uomo di Rispetto plot

Out of necessity and to escape poverty after WWII, the young Sicilian Giovannino joins the mafia and accepts the strict code of honor. Several decades later, fifty-year-old Giovannino is in a serious personal crisis. When his family is wiped out by the ruthless Corleonesi, his marriage is on the rocks and his life is in danger, he decides to leave the mafia. He also has deep affection for a thirteen-year-old boy, whom he helps to escape the misery by finding him a decent job. The only condition to be able to leave the organization is to murder his girlfriend Diana, who has fled to America.
