A young woman waits in the rain for her beloved who does not show up. Shivering with fever, she is brought home by another man and soon the two become a couple. However, when the man learns that her previous lover was not too late but died on the way to the appointment and that he also indirectly contributed to the man's death, the man is overwhelmed with guilt.
