At first glance, surgeon Anne May and claims adjuster Peter Kramer have a perfect marriage with two children, but appearances can be deceiving. The fire of their childhood sweetheart is gone from the relationship. She gets a vague and dissatisfied feeling around her 40th birthday and he throws himself completely into his work. Anne May gets a new, happy friend, Melika, who cheers her up. But it soon turns out that she is an old free-range of Peter's, which spoils the fun.
