Ukko plot

Ten-year-old Olei lives with her grandparents and her only friend, the cow Kaunikki, in a dilapidated Karelian village on the coast of the White Sea. Suddenly, the girl's grandfather dies. While her grandmother, consumed by the grief of her loss, performs the funeral rites, Olei seeks solace in Kaunikki's company. But on the night before the funeral, Kaunikki disappears, and the only person who could help her find her is dead.
