"Murder is the crime, Truth is the victim."
A young monk leaves town to seek out his father's counselor. He is disturbed by a testimony in a murder case. Along the way, he meets a poor man who testified at the trial and both take refuge in a tunnel during a storm, somewhere in an abandoned cemetery. There they find an old beggar who enthusiastically participates in their lively conversation about the trial.
