Tsuma no Kokoro plot
A childless married couple (Takamine and Kobayashi) live a relatively happy life and run the family business under the watchful, meddling eyes of their mother-in-law. The woman saves up to one day open her own cafe, but her mother-in-law decides that the money should be spent differently. In order to still be able to realize her plans, the woman borrows money from a banker friend (Mifune). However, her mother-in-law continues to knock money out of the couple's pockets, putting their marriage under pressure.
