Tropiques Amers plot

In the year 1788, the Count of Rochant arrives at the port of Saint-Pierre de la Martinique. He is accompanied by his wife and his two children, François and Olympe. The latter is promised to Théophile Bonaventure, a wealthy owner of a sugar cane plantation. During their journey, they stop at a slave auction and Olympe convinces Théophile to buy Koyaba. Rebellious and unwilling to submit, this African still fascinates her.
