Trio plot
A triptych of short stories by W. Somerset Maugham. The first 'The Verger' is about a sexton who is fired by the pastor because he cannot read and write. A few years later, he turns out to be the owner of a profitable chain of tobacconists. 'Mr. Know-All' is about a clumsy jeweler who takes a boat trip and can't make contact with other passengers. And the last story 'Sanatorium' concerns the vicissitudes of TB sufferers.
