Tri Sestry plot
At the beginning of the 20th century, three sisters (Olga, Irina and Masha) live in a small Russian town with their brother Andrei. However, they daily dream of returning to their former home in Moscow, where life is pleasant and has more to offer. But for now, they are struggling with a malaise of discontent. They are joined by soldiers from the local military post, but nothing can replace Moscow in their hopes. Andrei marries a provincial girl, Natasha, and begins to settle into a life far less meaningful than he had hoped.
