To Monon, tis Zois tou Taxidion plot
At the end of the 19th century, the writer Georgios Vizyenos was admitted to a psychiatric institution in Athens. Shortly before this he had an obsessive passion for twelve-year-old Bettina. During his time in the institution he tried to retrieve his memories of his childhood in Constantinople and Thrace and he also dug through his literary work based on these memories. However, he cannot distinguish between reality and fiction. His main character in these memories was his grandfather, who for the first ten years of his life dressed as a girl, because he was forced to hide his gender in order to escape military service. Vizyenos? grandfather lived his whole life in fairytale and dream world, thus influenced the psychological development of his grandson.
