Tikhiy Don plot

Poor Aksinya marries violent Stepan. She seeks support from her lover Gregory, who has to marry Natalya. When World War I begins, Gregory has to go to the front. There he witnesses the struggle of poor farm workers, who give their lives to defend the property of the rich landowners.
