This Woman Is Mine plot
"MADNESS...MUTINY....AND A MAID!"
New York, 1810. John Jacob Astor plans to organize a two-year fur expedition into the Oregon wilderness. He tells Scottish fur traders Duncan MacDougall and Angus McKay that his chief executive Robert Stevens, a seemingly timid accountant, will accompany them. The trio is completed by a group of rough French Canadian adventurers led by Ovide de Montigny. In a local café, Ovide meets the naive singer Julie Morgan, whom he seduces with the promise to take her to Paris. When Julie asks him to sail with him the next day, Ovide lies by saying that the ship is too small.
