"He only believed in strength - love was a word he hadn't the power to say."
The story of an athletic miner who gets the chance to prove himself in rugby. He quickly becomes a household name in the rugby world and is known as the toughest and most arrogant player of them all. He gets a girlfriend, but their relationship is based on sex and has no emotional value. At the wedding of one of the players they get into an argument and she leaves him.
