The World and the Woman plot
"A striking story of the regeneration of a fallen woman through faith"
Mary becomes a girl from the street after being cheated on by her husband. When she peeks through the window of a house one evening, she sees that a dinner is in progress. The master of the house invites Mary in and employs her as a kitchen maid in his country house. In the countryside she makes friends with a little girl and her parents. When the girl is injured in a fall, the doctor declares that she will never get better. Mary manages to heal her purely through prayer. She wants to become a faith healer, but her past continues to haunt her.
