The Wayward Bus plot

"The Steinbeck people! The Steinbeck passions! The Steinbeck power!"

A charter bus drives slowly through the mountains of California. Bus owner Johnny Chicoy (Rick Jason) has quite a few problems with his alcoholic wife Alice (Joan Collins). Among the passengers is Camille Oaks (Jayne Mansfield), a dancer on her way to a show in San Juan, who has fun hooking up with Ernest Horton (Dan Dailey), a sales representative. And then there's Mildred Pritchard (Dolores Michaels), a girl who goes on a tour with her parents. Based on a book by John Steinbeck.
