The Virgin of Stamboul plot
Captain Pemberton falls in love with Sari, a beautiful beggar woman from Constantinople. One day, Sari witnesses the wealthy Sheikh Akhmet Hamid beat a young American to death. To silence her, the Sheikh decides to include Sari in his harem, but she refuses his offer. When Captain Pemberton subsequently returns from the desert, he has them both locked up.
