The Velveteen Rabbit plot
"All You Need to Do is Believe."
Toby Morgan is an energetic kid with a strong imagination. He lives with his father, a successful businessman who has been emotionally cut off since the death of his wife, Toby's mother. When Toby is sent on Christmas vacation to his strict but loving grandmother, he wanders through the lonely house until he discovers what he says is "magical" attic, which was once his father's playroom. Toby is therefore surprised that his mother left him a stuffed rabbit in velvet, her ultimate last gift to her beloved son. When he hugs the rabbit, he starts to cry and discovers that his tears magically bring the toy to life. Toby spends a long time in the attic with a whole group of new friends, including the fierce horse and the wise but skittish swan. Toby's only wish is to spend Christmas with his father and the Velveteen Rabbit's wish is to hop through the fields like a real rabbit.
