The Tree of Knowledge plot

The devious Belle seduces Nigel Stanyon, a young man on the verge of a career as a minister. She seduces him, drains his bank account, and then dumps him. At the height of his despair, Nigel is discovered by Brian, a wealthy old friend, who gets him a job as a caretaker on his family estate. One day, Brian goes on a trip abroad, and Nigel is stunned to return home with a new woman. It turns out to be none other than Nigel's old flame, Belle.
