dr. Earl Denton owns most of the town of Dentonville, but hopes to buy more land in tribute to his daughter Joan and start a housing project that will bear her name. What Earl doesn't know, however, is that Joan is having an affair with Eddie Mercer, a laundromat mechanic, and that she's pregnant with him. When she tells Eddie the news, he wants to marry her. He is shocked when she asks him to arrange an abortion for her...
